First Nations Commitment

REED’s Aboriginal Engagement, Employment and Equity Strategy Guides Our Work and Shapes Our Connections With Community.

This strategy highlights our goals and commitment for effective engagement that respects, values and celebrates Aboriginal People and Culture, and improves the quality and delivery of our early childhood education and development services.

The guiding principles of the strategy are:

Trust & Respect

Equity

Cultural Integrity

Improved Child Outcomes

Genuine Career Pathways

Child Safe Principles

We value our First Nations staff

We are committed to providing a culturally safe workplace, employing an Aboriginal Engagement and Employment Officer to ensure that we listen and are guided by Aboriginal Communities on their desired outcomes. We are committed to ensuring that REED is a culturally competent organisation and providing ongoing opportunities for training and development.

We celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Culture in our services

We work towards continually improving connections with the communities in our regional locations. Our children enjoy beautiful Yarning Circles in most locations, built in co-operation with local Aboriginal communities. We are committed to increasing the participation of Aboriginal children and supporting Aboriginal families to access to the benefits of early childhood education and development.
